KR wiring issues (Idle module)

  • Good day fellow dubbers

I've got some electrical issues with my GTI 16v (KR) CE1

First, the idle does not work, the idle valve is checked to be working, and the 244 module (Idle control unit) is also checked to be working as it should

so my problem is somewhere between those.

so, my question to you are, does anyone have the wiring schemes over the idle circuit for a 1988 GTI 16v KR?

and another electrical problem, when i flick the lightswitch, the speedometer goes bananas, the RPM counter dies in an instand, and oil light and chargelamp comes on. and the MFA stops working. when i turn of the lightswitch again, everything goes back to normal

the ignition switch is new btw. so are the fusebox

and a thrid thing. what relays should i have?

    i've got the relay for:
    Load Reduction (18)
    Fuelpump (67)
    Blinkers
    wipers

    and 1 more i don't remember what is :)

    Help is much appreciated

    Regards

    Dan

  • Are you sure you didn't harm some of the wires when you changed the ignition switch? Since when does the speedometer go crazy? It might be a "ground connection" problem (sorry, is that the right expression? :D hope you know what i mean) , some people here in the board had the same problem like you, and a defective ground connection was the cause of it.
