I want to ask samthing.

Do you know if its actually an VW Golf MK2 Gearbox ? Any Idea what Car it comes from ? Horsepowers , Date of Construction or something like that ?

Knowig from what Car it comes would help a lot...

The most common Gearbox on the MK2 would be the one with 4 Gears and the 5th as Fuelsafe Gear. There are also those with 5 Gears, like the GTI one.

Here you find a listing of all the Gearboxes that VW sold with the MK2. For the 79kw GTI the Gearbox would be the AUG.

But if that one you got there is an AUG, that I cannot tell you. I would recomend to ask youl Local VW Dealer, maybe they can tell you something about it if you tell them the Code you found on the Box.
